WEDDINGS

“We chose you for the quality and brilliance of your photographs, but you managed to become one of the most cherished people that we had at our wedding”

If your wedding were a movie, what image would be on the poster? By ‘keynote’ picture, John refers to that which captures the very essence of an occasion. Whilst much of what John delivers is captured ‘on the hoof’, every album of wedding photographs contains an element of ‘set-pieces’. It’s like comparing the ‘science’ of a wedding with its ‘art’.

The thought behind the keynote picture may begin months in advance of the event. Perhaps a venue has a unique attribute – say, a landing pier on a glassy lake, a thickly wooded copse that plays with light or shadow or a classical entrance of wrought iron majesty? If so, then John will ensure that enough time is allocated to make the most of what’s on offer to deliver those compelling visual aides memoire with which he is so closely associated.

Sometimes, though, a keynote image comes from spontaneity: who might have guessed that a keynote picture might be snapped off-the-cuff on the back-seat of the guests’ coach, the gent’s toilets (yes, really!) or through an unplanned shower of confetti.

And if it’s appropriate to use the ‘poster’ simile: John will make both of you feel like movie stars.
